Am 26. Januar gab es einen bundesweiten Aktionstag für Solidarität und freie Bildung anlässlich des dreijährigen Jubiläums des Bundesverfassungsgerichtsurteils zu Studiengebühren. Dieser fand dieses Jahr in Frankfurt am Main statt. Am Ende eines erfolgreichen Tages voller schöner Aktionen gab es zum Schluss eine Massenspontandemo – und Massenverhaftungen. Vor drei Jahren urteilte das Bundesverfassungsgericht über das Verbot allgemeiner Studiengebühren, welches in jahrelangem Kampf vorher durch die Bildungsbewegung erstritten wurde. (Kommentierungsvideo) Dies war der Startschuss für den Summer of Resistance (Film)2005 mit zahlreichen Campuscamps, großen Demos und Präsidiumsbesetzungen, bis hin zu einem “Summercamp of Resistance” in Berlin (1,2). Nach entschlossenen Demonstrationen im Winter und einer Tortenattacke auf den Präsidenten der Hochschulrektorenkonferenz kam es am 26.1.2006 bereits zu ersten Jubiläumsaktionen: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 Nach dem in den Semesterferien Jugendliche und Studierende in Frankreich gegen das CPE revoltierten begann auch in Deutschland ein heftigerer Summer of Resistance reloaded (Dokumentarfilm) Autobahnbesetzungen, Gleis- und Bahnhofsblockaden standen auf dem Programm. How can I find undergraduate research grants in biology?
I am a biotechnology student at a big university and I spent this past summer looking for antibiotic resistance in bacteria found from wild leopard frogs. The initial results were promising, so I want to repeat the process on a much wider scale to support my hypothesis that farms are causing an increase in antibiotic resistant bacteria in animals that have never had direct contact with humans. But my university doesn’t provide much funding for undergrad research students, and I won’t be able to pull it off without financial support. I need to do this research during the summer and I won’t have enough time to do it on top of the full time job I need just to pay my rent. I’ve been searching online for hours, but all the websites I find require money for grant information.
